Washington: Lead vocalist of Guns N’ Roses Axl Rose lashed out at US President Donald Trump for using the former’s song in his political rallies.
In a series of tweets, Rose said that Trump has used the music of other artists aswell, who in the past had protested against it.
He claimed that despite urging the administration to not use his songs, Trump’s team is looking for loopholes through which they can use his music. He further claimed that Trump’s team is using ” blanket performance licenses” for using the music of several artists.
” Unfortunately the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues’ blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters’ consent. Can u say “shitbags?!”
Rose isn’t the first singer to protest against Trump, since on November 04, ‘Umbrella’ singer Rihanna raised her voice against Trump for using her song ‘Please don’t stop the music’ in one of his rallies.
Last month, Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams, according to Entertainment Weekly, sent a cease and desist letter to Trump after he used Williams’ hit song ‘Happy’ at a public event.
