Hyderabad: The interrogation on ACP in Akbaruddin Attack Case continued for the fourth day in the court. Former ACP, Santosh Nagar, Mr. Shaik Ismail was interrogated by Mr. G. Gurumurthy, Advocate. He told that Jani Miyan, the gunman of MLA Balala had opened fired at the attackers. Since there was no concrete evidence, no separate case was registered. He further informed that he is not the eye-witness of the attack case which occurred on 30th April 2011 but he continued recording the statements of injured persons in Owaisi hospital. He was unaware that how many injury marks were there on the body of Ibrahim Yafai who was killed with the bullet of Jani Miyan. He also told that he did not go to the mortuary of Osmania General Hospital to inspect the dead body but he had instructed Inspector of Police, Chandrayangutta, Mr. P. Venkatgiri to complete the formalities with the help of Mandal Revenue Officer. He also informed that he was busy in controlling the mob at Owaisi Hospital. He told that on the instructions from the then DCP of South Zone Police, Mr. N. Madhusudhan Reddy, he had instructed Mr. N. Yadaiah, Additional Inspector of Police, Santosh Nagar Police Station to visit Owaisi hospital and receive petition from any injured person or any eye-witness and register the case. He had also instructed Mr. Niyazuddin, Sub-Inspector of Police, Chandrayangutta to preserve the location of the incident. He did not know whether Mr. Ramulu, SI of Police, Chandrayangutta police station was on duty or not from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on that day. He refuted the charge that despite knowing that Akbaruddin Owaisi and others had opened fire on Ibrahim bin Yonus Yafai and also after sending the petition by the accused of the case through speed post, he failed to register the second case and got Mr. P. Venkatgiri, Inspector of Police of Chandrayangutta with the help of Mr. A.K. Khan, the then Commissioner of Police. Metropolitan Sessions Judge adjourned the interrogation on Mr. Ismail till 30th March.
