Hyderabad, September 03: Hyderabad Police today arrested a man, believed to be suffering from physiological problem, for allegedly killing six persons over a period of last one year.
The 55-year-old identified as one Rama Chandra Rathore, a native of Gulbarga in Karnataka, was yesterday picked up from here on suspicion of series of murders.
During the interrogation he admitted to be involved in six murders, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters. Rathore also confessed about his involvement in other cases including theft, robbery in Hyderabad, Karnataka and Maharashtra, Khan said.
“It has also come to light that Rathore is likely to be involved in some other murder cases in Gulbarga city and investigation is under progress in seven such cases,” he said.
The motive behind the killings was still not known, but, detailed questioning of the accused revealed “distorted mindset” which may be attributed to the fact that he lost his parents in childhood and is a loner, Khan said.
“Investigators have found that Rathore committed these murders, not for any valuables or money, but as a result of anger and influence of alcohol, he resorted to physical violence,” the Police Commissioner said. The killer targeted private security guards and a student and woman “who were killed brutally with boulders or hit with iron rods,” the senior police officer said.
