Ahmedabad, September 20 (Siasat News): The silver jubilee of Gujarat Today’s Lok Hit Movement was celebrated with full pomp and show on 19th September in Ahmedabad.
The Gujarat Today daily is published by Lok Hit Prakashan Sarvajanik Trust and Al Amin Lok Hit Charitable Trust. Besides Mr. Zaheer Uddin Ali Khan, managing editor Siasat daily, the silver jubilee function was attended by leaders of various social, educational and religious fields.
Addressing on the occasion Mr. Zaheer Uddin Ali Khan said ‘A community who ruled over 800 years is today is lagging behind the backward classes. We are abandoning education and pursuing luxury. Egypt’s Al Azhar University was established well ahead, 150 years, of today’s prominent universities like Harvard and Oxford. People pursued Islamic education through it.
Praising Lok Hit Movement, for not only its developmental efforts towards Muslim community but also for whole society, HoD of Islamic Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia, Prof. Akhtarul Wasey said, “Islam has sanctioned women with the right of education and nobody has a right to take that right away from them. Investment in stock market is not a biggest achievement but the investment in form of our children’s health and education will benefit us here and the Hereafter.
Proposer of Lok Hit Movement Sirajuddin Tirmizy elaborated 25 years journey of the movement, and said, “Gujarat Today is a mouthpiece of community. After the worst situation of 1985, Lok Hit Movement was started to encourage education and awareness in Muslims without yielding to any political or religious pressure. Movement has achieved splendid success because of its team work.
