Gujarat School: ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ nahi toh admission nahi

Ahmedabad: Adding fuel to the ongoing controversy of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ educational institute in Gujarat has made it mandatory to write ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ for getting admission in the institute.

Educational trust, named Patel Vidhyarthi Ashram Trust in Gujarat’s Amreli district has declared on Sunday that students must write ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ on their application forms if they want to take admission to its institutes.

The trust headed by BJP leader Dilip Sanghani runs a primary school, two high schools and a college in Amreli. Currently, around 4,500 students study in the four institutes.

“Students who don’t write Bharat Mata ki Jai on the admission forms will not get admission,” Sanghani was quoted as saying by Ahmedabad Mirror.

Gujarat BJP leader Dilip quoted as saying ,”In the time when anti-national sloganeering is gaining momentum on educational campuses, we want our students to respect their country. So, we have decided to give admission only to those students who write Bharat Mata ki Jai.

On asking whether the trust’s decision was in violation of the students’ constitutional rights, leadre said, “I have not received any complaints. If and when we get one, a decision will be taken.”

Congress has criticized this decision saying that BJP is trying to divide the country.
