Gujarat govt. allow girls to carry knife for safety

Gandhinagar, July 29: In an interesting move, the Gujarat Police has allowed girls to carry knife for self-defence.

The state DGP of Gujarat Shabbir Hussain Shekhadam Khandwawala has issued a circular giving girls an option to keep knife for safety reasons.

Cases such as rape, eve-teasing, personal theft etc. have been constantly worrying the girl’s freedom of security, therefore, the government has decided to act upon it in a way which appears to be the only choice left.

The Narendra Modi government has given approval over the step taken by the DGP Gujarat.

The circular aims to tackle violence against the fairer sex.

It would be worth mentioning that percentage of crimes against women have risen in the recent past to a figure which will astound any one.
