Gujarat: The poll-bound Gujarat has seen unprecedented amount of liquor seize by the Election Commission.
The Inspection and expenditure surveillance teams appointed by the Election Commission has seized 8.77 lakh liters of liquor, Rs 1.60 Crore illegal cash and Rs 8.13 Crore worth Gold and other expensive metals.
So far, the teams have caught Rs 19.55 Crore worth of liquor in the state.
Apart from the central observers, to curb Black money circulation in Gujarat, the election commission has appointed 100 election expenditure observers. The assembly elections to Gujarat are scheduled to be held on December 9 and December 14 in two phases for 182 assembly seats. The counting of votes will take place on December 18 for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
To prevent any kind of bribery or lure of voters through money, the Election Commission has appointed 100 election expenditure observers.
