Ahmedabad: A court here today refused bail to a Pakistani national who is accused of obtaining a driving license through forgery and violating his visa condition.
Additional Sessions Judge of Ahmedabad Rural Court M C Bhatt rejected the bail application of Amarjeet Vasindani (47) on the ground that he had prima facie violated the Foreigners Act.
Vasindani, a resident of Sindh province of Pakistan, came to India in 2010 on a visitor’s visa and started living in Bhaikakanagar area here.
The city police arrested him earlier this year after they found that he had obtained a driving license from Gandhinagar Regional Transport Office allegedly on the basis of fake birth certificate.
The police also booked him for allegedly violating the conditions of his visa as he had visited Gandhinagar when he was not supposed to travel outside.
Vasindani contended that he had merely signed the papers provided by RTO agents. But the court refused him bail.
