Gujarat CM Patel says 600 schemes launched for women

Lunawada (Gujarat), Aug.15 : GUjarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Saturday said that all steps were being taken to complete the raising of the height of the Sardar Sarovar Dam by 2017 and added that her government has launched over 600 schemes for the benefit of women living in the state.

The budget allocation for these schemes for women was about Rs.47000 crores.

Patel revealed this during her 69th Independence Day address to the citizens of the state.

The state-level Independence Day function was organized at Lunawada, the headquarters of newly-formed Mahisagar District.

Gujarat celebrated the event with full enthusiasm. Schools and colleges organised a series of cultural and patriotic programs.

During her speech, Patel also announced to increase the pension of freedom fighters in the state by two thousand rupees per month.

State Governor Om Prakash Kohli was also present on the occasion. (ANI)
