Gujarat CM meets BJP chief Amit Shah

Ahmedabad:Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today met BJP President Amit Shah in the backdrop of ongoing organisational elections in the state unit of the party and its poor showing in the just-concluded Panchayat polls.

The meeting, at Shah’s residence here late this evening, took place at a time when Gujarat BJP is in the process of appointing district and city unit Presidents after the party’s poor show in late last year’s Panchayat elections.

Patel and Shah held parleys for almost 40 minutes, party sources said, adding Minister of State for Health and Urban Development Shanker Chaudhary was also present.

Shah landed here on January 13 for a three-day visit and is expected to leave for New Delhi tomorrow.

BJP is in the process of selecting its new State President as the term of current chief R C Faldu has expired.
