Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Wednesday asked the officials to plan ahead for the possible water scarcity in parts of Gujarat this summer because of the deficient rainfall in the last monsoon. Patel chaired a cabinet meeting at Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
Afterwards, health minister and government spokesperson Nitin Patel said the CM asked various departments to do advance planning to ensure adequate supply of drinking water.
“We discussed at length the present situation of water supply across Gujarat. The CM asked the authorities to make sure that people do not suffer due to water scarcity,” he said.
“The CM has asked the irrigation and water resources department to do advance planning,” the minister added.
