Gujarat burns under scorching heat wave conditions

Ahmedabad: Gujarat is reeling under severe heat wave conditions since last more than one week as the state capital Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad have recorded highest temperature of more than 44 degree Celsius since last two days.

Ahmedabad Municipal corporation has again issued the alert that prevailing heat wave conditions will continue few more days and temperature may touch 45 degree Celsius in Ahmedabad.

According to reports, entire Gujarat including Kutch and Saurashtra are facing severe heat wave conditions since many days and there will be no respite as local weather office predicted that heat wave conditions may continue for few more days.

Apart from Ahmedabad, Gandhingar and Amreli, where the temperature had already crossed 44 degree Celsius mark, the cities like Surendranagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar , Vadodara, Rajkot and Kandla have also recorded more than 43 degree Celsius.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and 108 emergency services have issued a heat wave advisory for the people and advised them not to expose under the direct sunlight.

The cases of medical emergencies are on rise day by day due to severe heat wave conditions in the urban areas.

Rural people are also facing the hardships due to heat wave conditions coupled with acute water scarcity. (ANI)
