Guj sets up screening facility at border with Maharashtra

Ahmedabad, August 11: Gujarat government has set up screening facilities at four check posts on Gujarat-Maharashtra border in South Gujarat in order to screen people coming from Pune and Nashik districts.

“We have started screening people entering from Vaghai, Bhilad, Kaprada and Songadh check posts in South Gujarat,” principal secretary health, Ravi Saxena told PTI.

Over 3000 people, who came from Maharashtra through these four check posts, were screened today but not a single case of Swine Flu was detected, he said.

According to Saxena, the state health department has also set up a round the clock toll free helpline in Ahmedabad to provide information regarding the Swine Flu.

The cases of Swine Flu are increasing in the state with the total number of those being tested positive rising to 15 today and two persons have died due to the disease so far.
