Growing influence of Waqf mafia on Waqf affairs

Activities have come to a standstill in Waqf Board due to absence of Special Officer. Due to absence of high officials in the department Waqf mafia is trying to have complete control over the Waqf affairs.

It must be recalled that Justice Kodandaram of Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday granted interim stay on a GO issued by the Telangana state Government by appointing Mr. M. J. Akbar as a special officer to the State Waqf board. Following which Special Officer Jalaluddin Akber distanced himself from Waqf Board activities. Although government is preparing to file an appeal against the court verdict however the next hearing will take time.

Thus Waqf mafia has succeeded in keeping the Special Officer Jalaluddin Akber away from his duties. These elements have collusion with some officials of Waqf Board. Jalaluddin Akber has taken many important decisions against illegal occupants and for protection of Waqf properties.
