Tension sparked at Madannapet, Old city area on Saturday, when two groups clashed over land issue. Both the groups pelted sticks, stones and bottles on each other, leaving many injured. It is said that suspicious activities resulted in the group clash.
Police remained mute spectator to the battle continued for half an hour. According to reliable sources high officials of the police suspended Assistant Commissioner of Police Santosh Nagar Mr. Ashfaq from his post and called him to the headquarter.
