Greenline Metro starts from 28th february

Friday will be etched in Bangloreans mind as the much awaited Metro train service between Sampige Road and Peenya Industry Station will be officially launched.

The foundation stone for the second phase of Namma Metro will also be laid on the occasion.

While Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off the train from Rajajinagar Station at 6 in the evening, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay the foundation stone for the second phase at a vibrant event to be held at Sri Kanteerava Stadium at 7 pm.

However, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) announced on Thursday that the services will be thrown open for the public from 6 am on Saturday.
Union Ministers M Veerappa Moily, K H Muniyappa, Oscar Fernandes, K Rahman Khan and other dignitaries will ride the Namma Metro after the inauguration from Rajajinagar Station till Peenya Industry Station and back to Sampige Road Station.

There are about 10 stations on Reach 3 and 3a: Sampige Road, Srirampura, Kuvempu Road, Rajajinagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Sandal Soap Factory, Yeshwanthpur, Yeshwanthpur Industrial Area, Peenya and Peenya Industry.

All stations will be ready for use in time, said BMRCL Managing Director P S Kharola.
