All the signs of Muslims like masajid, graveyard etc are gradually being annihilated in the Gaulipura of old city, where communal riots of 1990 forced the Muslims to move away from the area. The night before some miscreants demolished two old shrines in order to encroach upon 500 sqyds land. Local non-Muslim devotees informed Siasat about this.
The non-Muslim devotees revealed that such heinous acts were also done earlier by the local miscreants however local non Muslim devotees reconstructed the shrines on their own. But the miscreants once again demolished the shrine and attempted to raze the graves.
The local people on the condition of anonymity revealed that infact the miscreants wanted to grab the 500 sqyds Waqf land abutting shrine so that the land can be sold at Rs. 10000 per sq yard. Some informed that local leader planned to build a garden on the land.
