Hyderabad, November 5: State government has decided to hike gratuity of the employees of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid. The gratuity will be paid to the employees of the two mosques in case of retirement or death during service. The GO MS 228 signed by Special Chief Secretary, M Chaya Ratan, was issued by the Minority Welfare Department by which the gratuity has been increased from 20 thousand to 2 lakh.
It has been mentioned in the GO that earlier the workers of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid were paid either half salary for each year or 20 thousand rupees in case of retirement or death. District Minority Welfare officer Hyderabad had appealed the government to increase the gratuity and pay the workers one month salary for each year or 3 lakh 50 thousand rupees.
After reviewing the issue the government has decided to increase the gratuity amount from 20 thousand to 2 lakh.
