Hyderabad, June 02: Stating that inability to complete the syllabus in Telangana region due to the separate statehood agitation was the reason behind many students’ adverse performance, a group of Congress leaders on Wednesday requested Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to accord five grace marks to students who had failed in this year’s SSC and Intermediate public examinations.
The team, led by MLC MS Prabhakar, Pradesh Congress Committee secretary C Rama Raju and Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee vice-president S Sudhakar met Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy at his Camp Office and submitted a memorandum appealing him to sanction 5 grace marks for Intermediate and SSC failed students this year.
They said the students failed in the annual examinations mainly due to non-completion of syllabus and the failure to conduct the requisite number of classes in the Telangana region due to disturbances and agitations for the separate state.
The Congress leaders appealed to the Chief Minister to consider their request on humanitarian grounds and to save one precious year of the students’ career.
The Chief Minister assured them that he would direct the officials concerned to look into the issue and take a decision soon.
