Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri cops on Thursday arrested a thief identified as E Praveen Kumar ageing 30, a businessman for committing theft in his grandmother’s house.
After arresting the accused the police have seized one long gold chain weighing 50.4 grams, one gold chain of 36.50 grams, two gold rings of 5.4 grams, and one long chain of 19.6 grams, the total is around 120 grams.
The police informed that the accused Kumar is a native of Kakinada in East Godawari district. From the past four months, he is been staying at Moula Ali in Hyderabad along with his aunt and grandmother, who is suffering from cancer.
Whenever his aunt goes out she preserve her gold ornaments or any other valuable items in his grandmother’s house, when Kumar came to know about it, he committed theft of gold ornaments belonging to his aunt and grandmother.
Later, Kumar deposited the ornaments and used the money for his self needs. When the aunt and grandmother came to know about theft in a house they lodged a complaint at Malkajgiri police station and the cops registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
