Grand celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singhji birthday on Jan 4

The Sikhs of Telangana will celebrate the 349th birthday of ”Sri Guru Gobind Singhji, the 10th and last Sikh Guru and founder of Khalsa Panth, on a grand scale on January 4.

In this connection a ”Vishaal Deewan” (Mass Congregation) will be organsied under the aegis of Prabhandak Committee Gurdwara Saheb Secunderabad at Key’s High School Grounds, Secunderabad from 10 am to 3 pm on January 4. Over 25,000 devotees and other community faiths are likely to participate in the event.

The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.

Akal Takhat Sahib (Highest Temporal Authority of the Sikhs), Amritsar Jathedar, Singh Sahib Giani Gurubachan Singhji will sermons while Bhai Ravinder Singhji, Ragi Jatha from Harmandir Saheb, Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite shabad keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus. After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees. (INN)
