Grand carnival to mark the end of the long week celebrations

A grand celebration is being planned on the Tank Bund to mark the closing ceremony of the week-long celebrations of the State Formation Day on Sunday, Telangana Minister for Commercial Taxes Talasani Srinivas Yadav has said.

The closing ceremony is likely to be about three-hour long from 5 p.m., the Minister said and invited people from all walks of life to be part of the event.

Personalities from the various industries such as film industry, sportspersons, elected representatives and general public will participate in the closing ceremony. Over one-lakh people are being expected to witness the carnival.

The event includes laser shows, fireworks, 3D lighting, shows by about 5,000 artistes, adventure shows on motorcycles, horses and others.

Speaking after holding a review meeting on Saturday, the Minister stated that Telangana Formation Day was celebrated from village-level like a local festival. He said that he would lead a rally from People’s Plaza and reach the Tank Bund.

Advisor to Government (Cultural Affairs) K.V. Ramanachary, officials of GHMC, Police and Cultural Affairs Departments participated.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy told reporters at Telangana Bhavan that he would lead a procession from Nizam College to Tank Bund with one lakh people to mark the conclusion of State Formation Day celebrations.
