Grand alliance to focus on development of Seemanchal: RJD

New Delhi, Sept.14 (ANI): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday said that grand alliance in Bihar would focus on the development of Seemanchal region.

“The people of Seemanchal have played a pivotal role behind the formation of our alliance comprising the RJD, JD(U) and the Congress. So, the development of Seemanchal is our agenda,” RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha told the media at a joint press briefing here with the JD (U) and Congress.

“The developmental work which Asaduddin Owaisi is talking about in the Seemanchal region is already in our manifesto. I am wondering why he is all of a sudden so keen on the development of Seemanchal just ahead of the polls,” he added.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday announced that his party would contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls from the Seemanchal region.

The term of the 243-member Bihar Assembly comes to an end on November 29. The polls in the state will begin on October 12 and conclude on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8. (ANI)
