The Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL), India’s deepest and multi-purpose port today donated school facilities to Z P High School , Gangavaram Village .
The facilities which included school infrastructure plus water & sanitation provisions were inaugurated by Ch Venkata Ramayya, MLA of the Gajuwaka Assembly Constituency in the presence of Sri P Janardhana Rao Ex Mayor Visakhapatnam, T Guru Murthy Reddy Ex- MLA Gajuwaka Assembly Constituency at the school premises. According to GPL Release here , the function was attended by school teachers, students, GPL staff and local villagers who welcomed the GPL’s humanitarian gesture. The initiative is a part of Gangavaram Port Corporate Social Responsibility programme which has been especially planned for sustainable development for betterment of the society.
As a part of the program, Gangavaram Port Limited provided basic infrastructure and focused on building water and sanitation facilities. GPL management provided 165 benches for 500 children to sit in their classrooms, 10 tables and 15 chairs for staff were also provided. The management constructed toilets for boys and girls for better hygiene and cleanliness at school. A bore-well was dug at the school to provide water. They constructed two Gates for safety and protection of school children while they attend their classes. GPL management also gave sports kits for the students to promote entertainment and sports activity amongst children.
On the occasion Mr K R R Naidu, Sr Vice President Gangavaram Port Limited said, ‘This event is organised as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program to ensure the well being of our society.” The facilities provided to the school will improve the school infrastructure and make the school safe and more comfortable for the students. Water and Sanitation are the basic necessities which every student has to be provided with. With these initiatives, we aim to create a positive environment for children who can study and grow in a clean and safe surroundings at school.
