Govt working to solve problems faced by jawans

Gurgaon, April 20: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Gurudas Kamat today said the government was working towards redressal of problems faced by paramilitary forces.

He recently visited the camps of various paramilitary forces and prepared a report on the problems faced by the jawans, which would soon be submitted to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Home Secretary G K Pillai, he said.

Kamat was speaking to media persons after attending the passing out parade of the ninth batch of Departmental Entry Gazetted Officers (DEGOs) selected as Assistant Commandants at the CRPF Academy in Kadarpur here today.

He said the threat of terrorism, communal strife, violent conflicts and crime are important concerns which need to be addressed urgently.

Terrorism continues to be one of the most serious threats to civilized society, he added.
