Govt will honour promises made with striking employees: Anam

Hyderabad, February 01 (INN): The State Government would honour all the promises that it made with the employees to end the Sakala Janula Samme or the general strike.

This was stated by Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy after he held a cabinet sub-meeting comprising Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimhan Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy and R&B Minister B Dharmana Prasad at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday. Anam said that the cabinet sub-committee would hold a meeting with the senior officials including Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi on February 2 to discuss the issue.

The minister said that the proposed meeting would have a two-point agenda. Besides discussing the problems being faced by the Secretariat employees, it would have detailed discussions on the status of promises made with different employees’ unions to end the general strike for Telangana.

Anam attributed the delay in fulfilling the promises made with the striking employees to change in ministers’ portfolios and transfer of officials. However, he said that the government would honour all the promises and their implementation would be discussed in the proposed meeting on February 2. (INN)
