Govt Will Buy 900 Mw Power: Cm

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that his government was making arrangements for buying 700 MW of power to overcome the present power crisis crippling the agriculture and industrial sectors.
Speaking to the media at Rampachodavaram, the Chief Minister said that all the welfare schemes were innovations of the Congress party and not of any single individual. He said that his government would take care that all these schemes were implemented effectively. He also said that he would meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and request him to link the handloom sector to the NREGS.

When asked about the controversial remarks of Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh that the non-performing IAS officers should be shot dead, the Chief Minister said that the remarks of the minister had not come to his notice yet. He called upon the ministers and MLAs to show restraint.
