Hyderabad, September 25: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation management has warned the employees participating in the general strike of serious disciplinary action if they do not report for duties with immediate effect.
More than 10,000 buses are off the road for the last six days and the management has been unable to convince the employees to withdraw the strike, at least partially. The Telangana RTC Employees JAC on Saturday has refused to hold any negotiations with the management saying that their only demand was formation of Telangana state and the strike would not be withdrawn unless the Centre makes a clear announcement on the statehood. The JAC leaders were invited for talk by the RTC Managing Director Prasad Rao. However, the JAC leaders refused to meet him.
Later in evening, Transport Minister Botsa Satyanaryana held a meeting with RTC and other departments in his ministry to review the crisis that have arisen due to the general strike. However, the review meeting too failed to find a solution to the on-going crisis. It ended up with the Transport Department and RTC management issuing a stern warning to the employees on strike asking them to join the duties.
