Govt. wakes up from slumber on issue of Makkah Masjid staff salaries

After Siasat invited attention towards the issue of Makkah Masjid staff salaries, government woke up from slumber. It has been decided to obtain loan of Rs. 18 lakh from Minority Finance Corporation to pay the salaries of the Makkah Masjid staff. Current year no amount was allotted for salaries of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid workers as a result staff of Makkah Masjid was deprived of salaries from the month of May.

When Siasat published the report government came into action and convened a meeting with high officials of Minority Welfare. It decided to pay the salaries by obtaining loan of Rs. 18 lakh from Minority Finance Corporation.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali is said to have directed Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel and Director Minority Welfare Jalaluddin Akber to obtain loan from Minority Finance Corporation and pay the salaries. Till the procedure is done Makkah Masjid staff will be deprived of salaries.
