Movement for Social Justice and Muslim Welfare has urged the State government to protect the Wakf properties which were being misused in connivance with the Wakf Board officials and people’s representatives.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Muslim Welfare leaders Azizuddin Farooqui, K. Sirajuddin, Aziz, Sajid Ali Khan, Mohd Bahadur Khan and others demanded that the State government initiate immediate action to protect 5566 square yards of Wakf land in Khairatabad and close down the Sensation and Sun Shine theatres located on the spot.
Alleging that the lessees of the Wakf land were conducting anti-Islam activities injuring feelings of the Muslims, the association leaders urged the officials concerned to stop the anti-Muslim business activities like running cinema theatres and Bar & Restaurants. They wondered that the Wakf Board officials too were keeping silent over the questionable activities. They said influential elected representatives were also involved in the shady activities. (NSS)
