Govt urged to fill up vacant teachers posts

Hyderabad, January 14:The Andhra Pradesh Save Education Committee on Thursday urged Primary Education Minister S Shailajanath to effect appointments under DSC-2008 to facilitate strengthening of teaching in government schools.

The Committee leaders, led by its president K Chakradhar Rao and General Secretary G Haragopal among others met the Minister at the Secretariat on Thursday and appealed for checking commercialisation of education and provide suitable facilities in the government schools which were lagging behind the private institutions.
They urged him to fill the pile of vacancies which were to be filled up as per staff pattern in vogue.
Similarly 30:1 ratio is to be implemented according to Right to Education Act of 2009, they appealed.

The Committee pointed out that where the students’ strength has increased from 100 to 200, the government must appoint a head master and create another class room if the students’ strength increased from 55 pupils.
The Minister was also urged to upgrade primary schools in addition to checking the drop-out rate while offering incentives to them like mid-day meals, morning breakfast etc,
The Minister is understood to have assured them to look into the issues. (INN)
