Govt trying to reduce defence procurement process: Parrikar

New Delhi, Nov. 29 : Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday said the Government was trying to bring down the defence procurement process to three years from present an average of five years.

Addressing the annual session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi on Saturday, Parrikar said the government would bring out a comprehensive document on the Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) to the satisfaction of India Inc in general and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in particular.

The Defence Minister urged members of industry to give a critical view on the proposed DPP as their criticism would enable the government in preparing the document of simplified procedures.

He said it will help in making India self reliant in defence production as well. (ANI)
