Govt Trying To Prune BC Quota, Say TDP Leaders

TDP politburo members Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Dadi Veerabhadra Rao have alleged that the State government was trying to decrease reservations in the local bodies for Backward Classes people in the State. They demanded that the State government continue reservation to SCs and STs according to their population.

In a press release here on Tuesday, the TDP leaders alleged that the Kiran government was trying to prune reservations to BC communities instead of increasing them. They also alleged that the government was trying to prune BC quota to ensure that reservations did not cross 50 per cent. They also alleged that the State government has failed to increase reservations from 50 to 69 percent like in Tamil Nadu. They also strongly opposed the State government’s attempt to prune BC quota.
