Endowment Minister C Ramachandraiah on Friday announced that the State Government would take up repair works to temples which are in a dilapidated condition under the `Mana Gu di’ programme launched across the State on
Thursday.
Talking to media persons after laying the foundation stone for reconstruction works of 100 years old Seetharama Temple at Angaluru in Gudlavalleru mandal in Krishna district, Ramachandraiah said that the people could bring to the notice of the government about the dilapidated temples which nee d repairs. He said that the Mana Gudi programme
provides an opportunity to the villagers to bring it to the notice of government over the pathetic condition of temples.
Stating that the Endowment Department was not facing any paucity of funds for reconstruction of temples, he said that the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam would also extend its help in this regard. He said that the TTD was co-sponsoring the event to protect and promote Hindu dharma which is under threat due to Western cultural onslaught.
