Union minister for minority affairs Rahman Khan told that the central government is serious over tabling the Prevention of “communal and targeted violence” Bill in the current winter session of the parliament. He strongly refuted the news regarding the amendments in the bill under Modi’s pressure. Speaking to media representatives in Hyderabad, Rahman Khan claimed that sanction of “communal and targeted violence” bill will help in curbing communal riots in the country. Besides this, there is a provision of action against the perpetrators and considerable compensation to victims.
In view of criticism by states on some points of the bill, the centre sought the opinion of all political parties on each aspect of the bill and necessary amendments have been made after consultation with the various political parties and home secretaries of the state,.
Rahman Khan rebuffed the criticism by Narendra Modi on the bill and said that Narendra Modi will never want the country to be free of riots. Narendra Modi knows that with the implementation of the act he may also land into trouble.
