A delegation of Hajj Committee led by Minorities Welfare Minister, Mr. Ahmedullah met the C.M. and thanked him for extending his cooperation to State Hajj Committee in making arrangements for the Hajj pilgrims.
The delegation included Mr. Syed Khaleeluddin, Chairman of Hajj Committee, Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman of Wakf Board, Mr. Zafar Javeed, Mr. R.H.Azad, Mr. Shaik Shareef, Mr. Rahmathullah Khan, Mr. Mohammed Baig, Mr. Mohammed Habeeb Ahmed and Mr. Abdul Hameed, CEO of Hajj committee.
The members presented a memorandum to C.M. requesting him to accelerate the construction of Hajj House at the airport and to allocate an amount of Rs.Two crore for this purpose.
C.M. gave a patient hearing to the representation made by th delegation and promised that he would extend his cooperation to Hajj Committee and take necessary steps to this regards so that it could offer better services to the Hajj pilgrims.
C.M. further told that his Govt. is serious about the economic and educational development of the Muslims. Reservation to the extent of 4% is continuing in Govt. services.
He told the Muslim Youths to make efforts for acquiring professional education because it is essential for leading a successful life.
C.M. informed that Govt. would publish diary in Urdu also for the year 2013. Govt. has established Minorities Commissionerate so that P.M’s 15 point programme and other welfare schemes could be implemented properly. Govt. has released Rs.15 crore for the repairs to mosques and Dargahs.
C.M. also met various Muslims delegations and assured them that Govt. is serious about the progress of Minorities. He also assured to take necessary steps for the preparation of separate budget for the Minorities on a par with the sub-plan for S.C’s and S.T’s from the next financial year.
Maulana Azfal Biyabani thanked the C.M. for releasing Rs.15 crore to Wakf Board for undertaking repair works to mosques. He appealed to the C.M. to sanction additional funds for making payments of the salaries to Imams and Muazzins of the mosques. He also apprised him of the steps taken by Wakf Board for the protection of wakf properties.
It is reported that C.M. expressed his satisfaction on the functioning of Wakf Board and assured help from the Govt. for protecting wakf lands.
Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, General Secretary of Congress told that the C.M. has open mind for Minorities sub-plan. He has agreed to allot 35 acres of land for establishing a medical college for Minorities at L.B. Nagar. After the establishment of this college, the monopoly of private Minorities medicalcolleges would come to an end.
He told that C.M. has assured for the opening of a residential school for the Muslim students in Nizamabad.
Mr. Mohammed Zakir and Mr. S.K. Afzaluddin were also present in the delegation, which met the C.M. They told him that they are trying to bring the Muslims closer to Congress Party. They have the Cooperation of the Muslims ulema in this regard.
Mr. Mohammed Afzal Shareef, Mr. MohammedLaeeq, Mr. Mohammed Omer Shareef from Adilabad and Nizamabad told that Minorities in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar are economically backward.Govt. should take steps for their economic development. They demanded the C.M. for allocating Rs.5 thousand crore for the Sub-plan for Minorities. They told that there is lack of leadership of Congress Party in the Telangana districts. They requested the C.M to nominate these leaders to important positions in Govt. managed institutions and corporations.
