Govt.’s prejudice against old city exposed, Khilwat multi-level parking complex project spiked

Hyderabad: Govt. seems to be prejudiced against old city as several projects are axed after they are launched. As a result development in old city is slow.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had promised the construction of the parking complex in June 2011. The foundation was also laid near Khilwat Palace. But after years of dilly dallying, now it is said that GHMC has cancelled the contract made with an agency. Fresh tenders will be called for the same.

If we look into the role of officials in step motherly treatment with old city, it becomes clear that they are helpless in the matter, as they are just puppets in the hands of public representatives. The change is possible only when the elected public representatives play their role well; because they have vested interest in every development project. Due to delay in construction of project the cost has increased manifolds.
