Telangana government has modified the previous orders of appointment of Special Officer Waqf Board. Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma issued GO RT 77 and fixed the tenure of Mohammed Jalaluddin Akber IFS Conservator of Forest as Special Officer Waqf Board for 6 months. Earlier by issuing GO RT 73 the Special officer was appointed for a period of one year.
As per Waqf rules special officer can be appointed for a maximum period of 6 months. Hence the government issued the revised GO. It must be recalled that the GO regarding appointment of Jalaluddin Akber for the period of one year landed into controversy since it was issued.
