UP govt review measures to control swine flu

Lucknow, August 20: Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Anant Kumar Misra today directed officials of his department to take immediate steps to check swine flu cases.

In a meeting with senior officials of his department, Misra instructed that functioning of three-member Rapid Response Teams in all districts should be made effective.

The minister directed that control rooms should work round the clock. Affected persons should be kept in isolation in their respective homes itself and given proper treatment, he told the officials.

On rising cases of Japanese Encephalitis in Gorakhpur and Basti districts, the minister said 75 lakh doses of vaccines would be provided by the Central government by this month end and a drive would be launched in Novemeber to vaccinate 70 lakh children in the age group of 1-15 yrs.
