Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has informed the Telangana State Legislative Assembly that the ‘Saddimoota’ meals scheme can be introduced on subsidised rates in any Agricultural Market Committee.
In his reply to a query raised by MLA T Ram Mohan Reddy during Question Hour, the minister informed that the Bowenpally AMC has an MoU with the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (KHMCF) to supply food to the beneficiaries at Bowenpally market yard where in turn the AMC shall reimburse the cost in terms of Agreement. The HKMCF shall prepare and transport food to the location in ready to eat condition and the Market committee will deploy its staff to collect the subsidised amount from the beneficiaries. The AMC shall provide electricity, drinking water, shed for food distribution, garbage management, cleanliness, security, etc., The KHMCF shall take responsibility of hygienic food.
The Siddipet AMC has also started this programme on October 13 ths year and Nizamabad AMC would also start the programme very shorty and the name also changed as ‘Saddimoota’ instead of ‘Subhojana’.
The minister said that as and when proposals are received from the AMCs, provision will be granted in the interest of users of market yard. (INN)
