UP govt to pay bonus to employees

Lucknow, February 26: Uttar Pradesh government today decided to give bonus to its employees fulfilling their long pending demand.

The decision would benefit about 15 lakh employees and cause an additional burden of Rs 506 crore to the state exchequer, an official release here said.

Besides group C and D employees, staff of aided schools and technical institutes, local bodies, zila panchayat and casual, daily wagers who had continuously worked for three years would also benefit from the government’s decision.

While 50 per cent of the bonus would be paid in the current fiscal, the remaining would be given next year, the release added.
