Congress deputy floor leader in Telangana legislative assembly Mohammed Ali Shabbir alleged that the Telangana government is not serious over implementation of minority welfare schemes. Commenting upon the meeting of collectors and high officials of departments convened by the chief minister, he said KCR directed officers regarding all other issues but did not pay attention towards minority and weaker sections welfare affairs. KCR is claiming to spend one lakh crore rupees for welfare schemes during the next 5 years but he should have showed his seriousness towards the matter by issuing directions to the collectors and officials in this connection.
M A Shabbir further said that CM had promised to allocate a budget of 1000 crore rupees for minority welfare but even after coming to power the minority welfare budget is not released which was withheld at the time of state bifurcation. Although KCR has kept the minority welfare portfolio with himself but he did not convene a single review meeting in connection with the implementation of Minority Welfare so far.
