Govt. not authorized to interfere in the affairs of Minority Colleges

Hyderabad: Govt. is not empowered to interfere in the affairs of the Universities and Minority Colleges. Despite this dilly dallying practice is being resorted to in granting affiliation to some of the minorities colleges which could result in closure of these colleges.

 

The managements of these colleges approached the High Court. The court ordered that the status of affiliation to these colleges should be made clear before 11 a.m. today the 7th July.

 

The colleges who approached the court contend that there is no binding on the managements of Minority colleges to invite any university representatives on the selection committee of teachers. Despite this University authorities that University representatives must be invited.

 

It may be mentioned that as per Article 30(1) of Constitution of India Minorities have been given full powers to establish and maintain their own institutions. The action of the Govt. is violating this provision.

 

The managements of Minority Engineering Colleges are not opposing the campaign launched by University authorities for maintenance of educational standards. Govt. is targeting unnecessarily Minority Engineering Colleges.  They demanded that University Authorities should immediately accord affiliation to these colleges.
