Hyderabad, January 18: Members of Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee (CLMC) today demanded that the Centre must apologise to the Muslim community for falsely implicating several of them by framing terror and anti-national charges against them after the bomb blasts, especially the Mecca Masjid blast, in various places in the country.
CLMC general secretary Mohammed Lateef Khan said at a press conference that the government should give a written apology to Muslim youth for falsely implicating them in the Mecca masjid blast case.
“Following the confession by Aseemanand, people want to know about the suffering of Muslim youth and their families. We believe that Swamy Aseemanand’s confessional statement is curtailed and it seems that there is something fishy about it. There is no mention of the logistical support at Hyderabad in his statements,” he said.
The CLMC also demanded the state government to withdraw the case registered under FIR No 198/2007 of Ramgopalpet police station against the youths.
The committee took objection to the state government’s move to appoint a government pleader to defend a compensation suit filed in a city civil court.
“The suit was filed in Civil court for compensation, admitting the mistake, paying compensation and punishing the accused police officers. How can the government appoint a pleader to protect the tainted officers who targeted Muslim youth?” Lateef Khan questioned.
The members also said that RSS pracharaks in Hyderabad who were involved in providing logistic support to Aseemanand in the bomb blast need to be investigated, exposed and arrested.
The committee members said that cases should be registered against Hyderabad police officers who falsely implicated the Muslim youth and tortured them and misguided the whole investigation. They also demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for each victim.
“The role of Hyderabad police officers should be investigated by CBI because there is a nexus between them, RSS pracharaks and police from other states,” Lateef Khan said.
