The Telangana Government is planning to find alternative to cater to Power needs in the rural areas by making optimal use of solar power besides non-conventional energy sources.
Visiting a rural technology park using a green concept, low-cost solar power at NIRD in Agriculture University here, IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao asked officials to prepare proposals of concept note to supply 8800 villages with solar power. “The government is serious on this concept and will make use of solar, non-conventional energy sources”, he said. He also asked the officials to coordinate with other departments for the purpose. A decision in this regard will be taken followed by a meeting with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
