The Telangana Hospitals & Nursing Homes Association (THANA) has condemned the State government’s decision to impose “Entertainment Tax” on the patients visiting hospitals and nursing homes.
In a pressnote here on Monday, the THANA stated that visit to hospitals and nursing homes for proper medical treatment has become expensive and unbearable for the common people. Under the circumstances, the State government directing the hospitals and nursing homes to collect 10% ET from patients is painful and highly objectionable, it said.
Urging the State government to reconsider its “anti-people” decision, the THANA felt that the governments formed by the people for the people viewing medical service on commercial lines instead of social service was a barbarous act. The move should be withdrawn forthwith, it added. (NSS)
