Bangalore, January 07: The pre-university education (PUE) department has decided to place a proposal before the government to increase remuneration amount for the teachers who attend evaluation work.
“We are planning to increase the remuneration amount by 15-20%. But the matter is still at the discussion stage,” said an official in the department.
The official said the department had completed all necessary arrangements for the smooth execution of this year’s evaluation work.
“We have already discussed the matter with teacher’s associations and managements. They have ensured support and promised that there will not be any issues regarding the remuneration,” he said.
GV Sriram, secretary, PU federation, told DNA, “We appreciate the department forlistening to our problems. But,We will not go for any compromise with the government if they do not fulfil our demands. We expect a hike of at least 30% in the remuneration. We also want them to increase our DA.”
“We are considering their demands and without their help we cannot the finish examination works,” said the official.
