Govt to issue statement on Padmalaya Studios’ land allotment

Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu on Thursday assured that House that the State Government would issue a statement in connection with regard to allotment of land for Padmayala Studios and other companies.

Raising the issue in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu demanded a judicial probe into the land allotments. Quoting media reports, he said that it was said to be land allotment scam of Rs 2,030 crore in which one minister, one former district collector and three RDOs were involved. He said that the TDP was ready to prove the charges with evidence.

Naidu wondered as to how the report sent by the Chief Commissioner Land Administration about the issue did not reach the government, but it reached the media. He said that the scam took place when Dharmana Prasad Rao was holding the Revenue Department portfolio. Besides judicial enquiry, Naidu also demanded that the issue be debated in the House.

On Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s instructions, the Legislative Affairs minister assured that the government to issue a statement on the issue. (INN)
