Telangana government has sanctioned scheme to provide 80 percent subsidy to minorities. Orders will soon be issued in this connection. Minority Welfare Department has sent the file to Finance Department for approval and orders are likely to be issued on Thursday. 80 percent subsidy will be provided to deserving minority families to begin business. Under the current scheme only 50 percent subsidy is provided and the maximum limit is Rs. 1 lakh. While the new scheme will greatly benefit minorities. Presently the scheme was being implemented for SC, ST it has been decided to extend it to minorities.
On the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel had sent the proposal of this scheme to the government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has sanctioned the scheme. It must be noted that Chief Minister holds the portfolio of Minority Welfare.
