Govt gives nod for setting up 25 major industries

The State Government on Wednesday accorded permission for setting up of 25 major industries with Rs 40,400 crore investments.

The Chief Minister has conducted a high level meeting of Andhra Pradesh State Council for investments and industrial promotion in Secretariat here.

Speaking after the meeting, the Minister for Major Industries, Dr J Geetha Reddy said that putting a check to the allegations that industries were concentrated in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, care was taken to setup the new industries in 12 districts. Among newly approved industries, 13 were cement industries, 6 chemical industries and one plastic and one steel industry.

In 44 projects approved in the last year, 14 industries were setup and 27 were at various stages of construction.(NSS)
